Beijing – Part 4

The 天壇 (Temple of Heaven) is a complex of religious buildings with a surrounding park on a 267 hectares area. The construction started in 1406 during the reign of the Yongle Emperor, which is also responsible for the building of the Forbidden City. In 1998 the Temple of Heaven in Beijing became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
