Athens – Part 1

Athens is one of the oldest cities in the world. It can look back on a documented history of more than 3400 years and has long been considered the most important center of the arts, learning and philosophy in the world.

Athens is the largest city in Greece and the heart of the Greek economy. Especially the nearby port of Piraeus is important for the southeast European country.

The cityscape of Athens is characterized by different styles. Easily noticeable, especially when you look at the city from a certain height, is the lack of tall buildings. The reason for this is a very strict height restriction laws which ensures that the Acropolis hill is visible from the whole city. The Athens Tower 1 with a height of 103 meters is the highest building in the city. The Tower is used as an office building.
