Amiens is a northern French town in the Hauts-de-France region. It was home to the author Jules Verne and birthplace of the Macarons d’Amiens, delicious macarons made from almond paste, honey and fruit.
The main attraction of the city is the Gothic Notre-Dame d’Amiens. The Cathedral of Amiens was supposed to reach to heaven, making it the highest completed church in France today. The cathedral was built in the 13th century and was 1981 by UNESCO designated as a World Heritage Site.
